VANS WARPED TOUR RECAP DAY 21: Charlotte, NC - We’ve met a lot of cool people on the tour and today we wanted to do something special for them. First we dropped off a few cases of Vitaminwater to the great Tada Catering staff, then we dropped off a couple of cases to the big man himself Kevin Lyman’s tent (actually left him a couple copies of me EP), and last but not least we made a special Warped Tour Friends Vitaminwater punch for all of our friends and served it to them right outside our bus. I’m not lying when I tell you this, but there are no egos on this tour (well at least that I know of). It’s a special community of musicians/people that care about music, the people they entertain, and each other.
One more day. I can’t believe it’s finally here.

VANS WARPED TOUR RECAP DAY 20: St. Petersburg, FL - Rarely do you ever get to play a show facing the ocean. Today was one of those days. The set went off without a hitch (super tight), guys spirits were good, and the response from the crowd was great. Later on in the day after dinner, the band decided to head out to the beach and…relax. The few hours we spent on the beach was a therapeutic . You start replaying everything in your mind about the tour. I’m just thankful to have been able to share this experience with my boys: Beau, Aaron, Daniel, Andrew and James (tour manager). We learned a lot together on this tour and really had each others back and that’s something I’m very proud of. Everything happens for a reason and I’m thankful for this one.

VANS WARPED TOUR RECAP DAY 19: West Palm Beach, FL - One of my favorite things about Warped Tour is the BBQ. One because it means the day is pretty much, Two it’s a time to mingle amongst all the fellow musicians and staff outside of all the madness the day brings, and three because of the entertainment. There have been a lot of acts that have played the BBQ that were great, but I’d have to say one of the best played the BBQ in West Palm Beach. The band is called Funeral Party. Beau had been raving about this band and seeing them live upfront and close I understood why.

VANS WARPED TOUR RECAP DAY 18: Orlando, FL - As I walked on to the stage for our early afternoon set I wasn’t sure if anyone would show up. The stage was facing a pond/lake behind all the other stages. Beau decided to shake things up for the set and the band proceeded to jam Rufus & Chaka Khan’s “Tell Me Something Good”. As we performed the song I noticed a gentleman run up to the stage all the way from the pond. He threw out a $50 bill on stage. After the set he pulled me aside and said “Son, Rufus was my first music teacher.” He then looked me in the eye, put his hands on my shoulders and said “You are blessed.” and walked away. Never saw him again for the rest of the day. He didn’t ask for a CD or anything. Beau and I called him a messenger, basically telling to keep up the good fight. The highlight of this tour for sure.
Cheers,
Larry
